The Box Tops Program for Cheshire School
What happens to the money earned through Box Tops? The PTG has decided to use the money earned through the program to maintain and improve the playground. Many residents of the town can benefit from a well cared for, clean and fun playground. Grandparents with visiting grandchildren, daycares, playgroups and students of Cheshire Elementary School all use this space. With cash from this program we will be able to fix or replace broken equipment, add shade, incorporate seating areas for adults, and do various other improvements. Plus, the money goes toward something that is very visible....you will all be able to see what you are contributing to.
Currently, Cheshire School's Box Top Coordinator is Karen Isbell. Karen became Chairman of the Box Tops Committee for the PTG in the summer of 2011. She is also the Troop Leader for the Cheshire Girl Scouts. Her Girl Scout Troop will be assiting the PTG with the process of sorting, bundling and submitting the Box Tops to General Mills. The process is time consuming and the time donated by the Girl Scouts will earn them credit toward obtaining badges.
The PTG will be running a school wide contest for Box Tops to entice the students to bring in as many of the coupons as possible. There will be prizes for classes who reach incremental collection goals of 1000, 2000, 3000, and 4000 Box Tops. Every class will be able to earn goal prizes, if every class brings in 1000 coupons then every class will receive that level of award. Additionally, the three classes who bring in the most Box Tops coupons by the end of the school year will receive prizes, and the teachers of those classes will also be rewarded.
Thank you for supporting Cheshire Elementary School and the PTG!
