We are excited to announce that we have been given the opportunity to participate in the Mass Save Energy Saving Fundraiser again!!!  In the fall we ran this fundraiser with great success.  Many of you asked if we could get more light bulbs and now we can! 

Key details:

·        100% of the money collected goes directly to the Cheshire School PTG.

·        Payment needs to be taken at the time of sale in the form of cash or check.  Checks need to be made payable to: Cheshire School PTG.

·        Orders are due back on Friday April 13^th.  If you want to be able to sell more over vacation, please send a note in to the PTG labeled with your child’s name and grade saying that you want more time to get sales.   You may then return your order form on Monday April 23^rd.

·        The product will arrive at Cheshire School approximately 1 month after the order forms are tallied.  The product will come packaged for each individual child.  We will put out a notice when the orders are submitted to the company to keep you informed about the status.

·        We will schedule a time for parents/guardians to pick up the product.  We do not want CFL light bulbs traveling home with the students.

Great ideas:

·        Try to sell to your employer; our power strips will save them money.  Most businesses use power strips.  Computers, cash registers, televisions, lamps, and more all draw extra power when not in use.  Let your employers know that the power strips we sell will cut off phantom power usage and reduce costs! 

·        Replacing one 60-watt incandescent bulb with a 13-watt CFL bulb can save you at least $30 in energy costs over the life of the bulb.  For every $1 you spend, you can make $29 in return.  Now that is an investment!!!

Why should you help the PTG?

          Many of you wonder where our money goes.  The PTG doesn’t only fund after-school activities.  We pay for field trips, cultural activities and assemblies, snacks for MCAS testing, playground maintenance, fun motivational events such as the school wide ice cream party, student planners for the upper grades, prizes for the “Good Kid Awards”, and so much more! 

            Starting this coming fall, we have set a $10,000/year budget for our Cultural Committee to bring in enrichment opportunities to our students in order to improve the educational experience.  Providing students with assemblies and opportunities to learn outside of the classroom strengthens their willingness to learn and their enthusiasm toward school.

            Without the help of families like yours, we will not be able to offer so many fantastic extras to the children.  Thank you so much for participating in this fundraiser!!!!  The entire school appreciates it!!!
